Removal and Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to the Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  4. Remove the engine wiring connectors and harness clamps around the intake manifold and then remove the connector brackets and wiring protector.
  5. Remove the water cooled intercooler reservoir tank.
    1. Disconnect the over flow hose (A).
    2. Remove the water cooled intercooler reservoir tank (B).

      Tightening torque: 

      7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)

  6. Remove the inter cooler outlet hose (A).

  7. Remove the PCSV (A) and hose (B)

  8. Remove the oil level gauge and pipe (A).

  9. Remove the water outlet pipe mounting bolts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.6 lb.ft)

  10. Disconnect the vacuum hose (A).

  11. Remove the connector bracket (A).

  12. Remove the intake manifold stay bracket (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)

  13. Remove the intake manifold (A) with the gasket.

    Tightening torque: 

    18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Be careful not to allow the foreign substances to enter the inlet port.
    • Do not reuse the intake manifold gasket.
  14. Install in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE:
    • When installing the intake manifold, tighten the bolts and nuts with pre-torque first, and then tighten the bolts and nuts with the specified torque as the sequence shown.
