Removal and Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION:
  • Be careful not to damage the parts located under the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank and canister) when raising the vehicle using the lift.

    (Refer to General Information - "LIFT AND SUPPORT POINTS ")

NOTE:
  • Disassembly of the thermostat would have an adverse effect, causing a lowering of cooling efficiency.
  1. Remove the engine cover (A).

CAUTION:
  • Remove the engine cover on room temperature.
  • Do not disengage both front and rear mounting point at the same time.
  1. Drain engine coolant by loosening the drain plug.

    (Refer to the Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  2. Disconnect the radiator lower hose (A).

  3. Remove the water inlet fitting (A), O-ring (B) and thermostat (C).

    Tightening torque: 

    18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Install the thermostat jiggle valve facing upwards.

  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  5. Fill the radiator with water through the radiator cap and tighten the cap.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  6. Start the engine and check for leaks.
