Repair Procedures: Removal

- Drain engine oil.
(Refer to the Lubrication System - "ENGINE OIL ")
- Drain engine coolant by loosening the drain plug.
(Refer to the Cooling System - "COOLANT ")
- Remove the water cooled intercooler.
(Refer to Intake And Exhaust System - "WATER COOLED INTERCOOLER ")
- Remove the front cross member.
(Refer to Suspension System - "FRONT CROSS MEMBER ")
- Remove the LH engine mounting support bracket (A).
Tightening torque:
49.0 - 58.8 N.m (5.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 36.2 - 43.4 lb-ft)
- Remove the front drive shaft.
(Refer to Driveshaft and axle - "FRONT DRIVESHAFT ")
- Remove the Front Differential Carrier (4WD)
(Refer to Driveshaft and axle - "FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ")
- Remove the oil filter & cooler assembly.
(Refer to Lubrication System - "Removal and Installation ")
- Remove the transmission lower mounting bolts (A).
- Remove the oil pan (A).NOTE:
- When removing the lower oil pan, use the SST (09215-3C000) in order not to damage the surface between the upper oil pan and lower crank case.
- Insert the SST between the lower oil pan and upper oil pan by tapping it with a plastic hammer in the direction of arrow.
- After tapping the SST with a plastic hammer along the direction of arrow around more than 2/3 edge of the lower oil pan, remove it from the upper oil pan.
- Do not turn over the SST abruptly without tapping. It may be result in damage of the SST.
