Check operation of oil pump regulating valve

IG "OFF".
With oil pump regulating valve connector still disconnected, connect 12V and a ground to 2 and 1 terminals of the oil pump regulating valve (Component side).
Specification: Clicking sound should be heard during power applied.
Has a problem been found?
YES
- Substitute with a known - good oil pressure sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace oil pressure sensor and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known - good oil pump regulating valve and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace oil pump regulating valve and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
