DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Case 1 DTC Strategy
  • Signal Stuck in range
  1. Poor connection or damaged harness
  2. Faulty FTPS
  3. Faulty PCSV
  4. Fuel Cap missing
Enable Conditions
  • Vehicle Speed is greater than 50 km/h (31 mph) at least one time during driving cycle
  • Canister Purge Flow is greater than 0.4 g/sec. (during uninterrupted 30 seconds)
  • Battery voltage is between 10V and 16V
  • Canister Load is less than 0.5
  • Ambient Temperature is greater than -8.25°C (17.15°F)
  • Fuel level is less than 85%
Threshold value
  • Fuel Tank Pressure Signal Variation is less than 20 mV
Diagnosis Time
  • 30 seconds
Case 2 DTC Strategy
  • Signal High (too high tank pressure with active Canister Purge)
Enable Conditions
  • Canister Purge Flow is greater than 0.4 g/sec. (during uninterrupted 30 seconds)
  • Battery voltage is between 10V and 16V
  • Canister Load is less than 0.5
  • Ambient Temperature is greater than -8.25°C (17.15°F)
  • Engine Coolant Temperature is greater than 40°C (104°F)
  • Fuel level is less than 85%
  • Time elapse in case of refueling identification is greater than 200 seconds
  • Barometric pressure (BARO) decrease is greater than 20 hPa within 300 seconds
  • Fuel slosh is not detected
  • Fuel level signal variation is less than 8%
Threshold value
  • Fuel Tank Pressure is greater than 400 Pa
Diagnosis Time
  • 30 seconds
Case 3 DTC Strategy
  • Signal High (too high tank pressure with not active Canister Purge)
Enable Conditions
  • Ambient Temperature is greater than -8.25°C (17.15°F)
  • Engine Coolant Temperature is greater than 40°C (104°F)
  • Battery voltage is between 10V and 16V
  • Fuel level is less than 85%
  • Canister Purge Valve is closed
  • Time elapse in case of refueling identification is greater than 200 seconds Barometric pressure (BARO) decrease is greater than 20 hPa within 300 seconds
  • Fuel slosh is not detected
  • Fuel level signal variation is less than 8%
Threshold value
  • Fuel Tank Pressure is greater than 1500 Pa
Diagnosis Time
  • 30 seconds
Case 4 DTC Strategy
  • Signal Low
Enable Conditions
  • Ambient Temperature is greater than -8.3°C (17.06°F)
  • Engine Coolant Temperature is greater than 40°C (104°F)
  • Battery voltage is between 10V and 16V
  • Canister Purge Valve is closed
  • Barometric pressure (BARO) decrease is greater than 20 hPa within 300 seconds
  • Fuel slosh is not detected
  • Fuel level signal variation is less than 8%
Threshold value
  • Fuel Tank Pressure between -3500 Pa and -1100 Pa
Diagnosis Time
  • 40 seconds

  • 2 driving cycles
