Check for an short circuit to battery

- Turn off the ignition switch.
- Disconnect the alternator and ECM connector.
- Turn on the ignition switch.
- Measure the voltage between the signal terminal of Alternator harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approximately 0 V
- Is voltage within specification?
YES
- Go to "CHECK FOR SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND " procedure.
NO
- Repair the connector. go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
