Detecting Condition |
Possible Cause |
| Case 1 |
DTC Strategy |
- Monitor the engine coolant temperature (Signal Stuck Low)
|
- Poor connection or damaged harness
- Faulty ECT sensor
- Faulty cooling system
|
| Enable Conditions |
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) is lower than 76°C (168.8°F)
- Battery voltage is between 6V and 16V
|
| Threshold Value |
- Measured ECT increase is less than 0.75°C (33.3°F) ~ 35°C (95°F)
|
| Case 2 |
DTC Strategy |
- Monitor the engine coolant temperature (Signal Stuck High)
|
| Enable Conditions |
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) is greater than 76°C (168.8°F)
- Battery voltage is between 11V and 16V
- IAT at engine start is between -9.8°C (14.36°F) and 70°C (158°F)
- Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) is greater than -9.8°C (14.36°F)
- Part Load driving condition: More than 250 ~ 500 seconds (Engine speed >1400 & Vehicle speed>22 mph & Mass air flow >5.5 g/sec.)
- Low Load driving condition: More than 200 ~ 400 seconds (Fuel Cut Off or Idle with vehicle Speed<12 mph)
|
| Threshold Value |
- ECT variation is lower than 2.25°C (36.05°F) since engine start
|
| Case 3 |
DTC Strategy |
- Monitor the engine coolant temperature (Plausibility check)
|
| Enable Conditions |
- Battery voltage is between 6V and 16V
- Engine Stop time is more than 480 minute
- ECT decrease in 15 sec after start is less than 1°C (33.8°F)
|
| Threshold Value |
- Deviation between ECT and 2 other temperature sensors (IAT, AAT or EOT) is greater than 20°C (68°F) and Deviation among other temperature sensors (IAT, AAT, EOT) is less than 20°C (68°F)
