Check short to battery in CAN BUS

  1. IG "OFF". Disconnect ECM, smart junction box (gateway) connector.
  2. IG "ON"
  3. Measure the voltage between P-CAN HIGH terminal of ECM Connector and chassis ground. (CAN HIGH line)
  4. Measure the voltage between P-CAN LOW terminal of ECM Connector and chassis ground. (CAN LOW line)

    Specification:  0.0V~0.1V

  5. Is the measured voltage within specification?

    YES 

    • Go to "Check CAN BUS continuity" as follows.

    NO
