Monitor GDS Data

NOTE: If any codes relating to Rear HO2S or TWC (Three-way Catalyst Converter) are stored, do ALL REPAIRS associated with those codes before proceeding with this troubleshooting tree.
  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Turn "ON" the ignition switch.
  3. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" button, Press "DTC Status" to check DTC's information from the DTCs menu.
  4. Read "DTC Status" parameter.

  5. Record all DTC's, DTC status and freeze frame data. Does DTC Status indicate "Present"?
    NOTE:
    • History (Not Present) fault: DTC occurred but has been cleared.
    • Present fault: DTC is occurring at present time.

    YES 

    • Go to next procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECM's connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, ending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
