Removal And Installation

- Disconnect the battery (-) terminal from the trunk room.
- Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Loosen the drain plug and drain the engine coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")
- Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps and remove the wiring protector around the Electric Thermostat (ECT).
- Disconnect the heater hoses (A).
- Remove the engine room panel (A).
- Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (A).
- Remove the RH turbocharger water pipe mounting bolt (A).
- Remove the RH turbo charger stay (A).
- Remove the heater pipes (A).
- Disconnect the RH turbocharger water hose (A).
- Loosen the mounting bolt of the inlet water pipe (A) and make room for removing the electronic thermostat.
- Disconnect the connector (A) and then remove the electric thermostat (ECT) (B).
Tightening torque:
16.7 - 19.6 N.m (1.7 - 2.0 kgf.m, 12.3 - 14.5 lb-ft)
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
