Water Cooled Intercooler Coolant Replacement and Air Bleeding
- Make sure the engine and radiator are cool to the touch.
- Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Open the water cooled intercooler reservoir tank cap (A).
- Disconnect the water cooled intercooler lower hose (A) and drain the coolant.
- Connect the water cooled intercooler lower hose (A) after drain.
- After draining engine coolant in the water cooled intercooler reservoir tank, clean the tank.
(Refer to Cooling System - "RESERVOIR TANK ")
- Fill the radiator with water through the radiator cap and tighten the cap.
- Key ON and connect the diagnostic device.
- Perform the
"Electric Water Pump Control" under the "Vehicle S/W Management" of the diagnostic tool.CAUTION:
- When operating the EWP forcibly, simultaneously charge the 12V battery to prevent battery discharge.
- Repeat steps 3 to 10 until the drained water runs clear.
- Fill fluid mixture with coolant and water (50%) slowly through the pressure capCAUTION:
- For best corrosion protection, the coolant concentration must be maintained year-round at 55% minimum. Coolant concentrations less than 55% may not provide sufficient protection against corrosion or freezing.
- If the concentration of the coolant is 60% or more, it is not recommended as it may reduce the cooling effect.
- Perform the
"Electric Water Pump Control" under the "Vehicle S/W Management" of the scan tool.CAUTION:
- When operating the EWP forcibly, simultaneously charge the 12V battery to prevent battery discharge.
Coolant capacity:
3.9L (1.03 U.S.gal., 4.12 U.S.qt., 3.43 Imp.qt.)
- Start engine and check for leaks.
- Install the engine room under cover.
