Removal and Installation
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")
- Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (A).
- Disconnect the purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) hose (A).
- Remove the brake vacuum pipe bracket mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque:
7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps and remove the wiring protector around the surge tank.
- Remove the foam (A).
- Disconnect the intercooler outlet hose.
- Disconnect the booster pressure sensor (BPS) connector (A).
- Disconnect the RCV solenoid valve connector (B).
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (C).
- Disconnect the intercooler outlet hose (D).
Tightening torque
Hose clamp:
4.9 - 6.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.7 kgf.m, 3.6 - 5.1 lb-ft)
(If equipped with a cap, tighten it until the cap is removed.)
Pipe bolt:
18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)
NOTE:- It is allowed to plaster cleaning liquid or alcohol on the connecting surfaces of hose and pipe, but all kinds of oil is prohibited.
- The marking of hose must be in line with the stopper of the throttle body.
- The band must be located on the position mark of hose and must not run over it.
- Tighten the torque control cap until it separated. If a torque control cap has already removed, tighten the screw at the specified torque.
- Remove the oxygen sensor and bracket (A).
- Separate the electric throttle control (ETC) module.
(Refer to Engine control/Fuel System - "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) SYSTEM ")
- Remove the surge tank stay mounting bolt (A).
Tightening torque:
26.5 - 31.4 N.m (2.7 - 3.2 kgf.m, 19.5 - 23.1 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (A).
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
