[Filling And Air Bleeding]

- Turn OFF the Engine.
- Remove the Engine Cover (A).NOTE:
- Lift up the lower end of the Engine Cover to remove the fixing part, and then alternately remove both the left and right side parts.
- When installing, confirm that the mounting rubber insulators has been installed.
- Separate the wiring protector.
- Remove the Foam (A).
- Disconnect from the nipple the vent hose (A) that comes from the intake manifold that is located on the top of the engine front timing chain cover.
- Make sure that the engine is cool. Then, open the radiator cap and install the coolant refill tank.
- Refill a mixture of antifreeze and water (45 - 60 %) into the vehicle using the coolant refill tank.NOTE:
- Slowly inject the coolant so that the air inside can get out easily.
- Press the upper/lower hoses on the radiator so that the air can get out easily.
NOTE:- Use only genuine antifreeze/coolant.
- For best corrosion protection, the coolant concentration must be maintained year-round at 55% (except for North America, Europe and China: 45%) minimum.
Coolant concentrations less than 55% (except for North America, Europe and China: 45%) may not provide sufficient protection against corrosion or freezing.
- Coolant concentrations greater then 60% will impair cooling efficiency and are not recommended.
CAUTION:- DO NOT mix different brands of antifreeze/coolants.
- DO NOT use additional rust inhibitors or antirust products; they may not be compatible with the coolant.
- When the coolant flows out through the disconnected hose, engage the hose securely to the nipple.
- Connect the diagnostic device.
- Start the Engine.
- Use the GDS to activate the electric thermostat coolant refill mode.NOTE:
- If the refill mode is not activated early enough, air bleeding may not be performed properly.
- When the coolant begin to circulate, refill the coolant through the radiator cap.

* Conditions for Entering the Filling Mode
- The shift lever is at the P position and the parking brake is applied.
- The engine is idle.
- The coolant temperature is 85°C (167°F) or above.
- The vehicle speed is 0 km/h.
- The heater is turned off.
- Perform the work indoors to help raise the coolant temperature.
* Conditions for Deactivating the Filling Mode
- The Coolant Temperature is 90°C (194°F) or above.
- The filling mode stop option is selected in the diagnostic device.
- The conditions for entering the filling mode are not satisfied.
- A filling mode abort condition occurs such as an ECT heater failure or a WTS failure.
CAUTION:- Don't accelerate the Engine.
[Check The Coolant Temperature]
- Install the Radiator Cap and fill the Reservoir Tank to the "MAX" (or "FULL") line with Coolant.
- Stop the Engine and wait Coolant gets cool.
- Repeat 7 to 10 until the Coolant Level doesn't fall any more, bleed air out of the Cooling System.NOTE:
- It takes time to bleed out all the air in the Cooling system. Refill Coolant when Coolant gets cool completely, then recheck the Coolant level in the reservoir tank for 2 - 3 days after replacing Coolant.
