Repair Procedures: Removal
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
- Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
- To avoid damage, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion.
Information
- Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection.
- Start the engine to release the pressure inside the fuel line. Then, remove the fuel pump relay.
When the engine runs out of fuel in the fuel line and stops, turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the battery (-) terminal from the trunk room.
- Remove the engine cover.
- Remove the engine room cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")
- Remove the under cover.
- Loosen the drain plug and drain the engine coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")
- After recovering refrigerant, remove the high & low pressure pipe.
(Refer to Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning - "COMPRESSOR ")
- Remove the air intake hose and air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")
- Remove the front wheel.
- Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A) and lower hose (B).
- Disconnect the heater inlet & outlet hose (A).
- Disconnect the ECM connector (A), TCM connector (B), ground (C).
- Disconnect the fuse & relay box wiring.
- Disconnect the fuel hose (A), PCSV hose (b), brake vacuum hose (C).
- Remove the intercooler inlet & outlet hose.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "INTERCOOLER ")
- Remove the transmission oil cooler hose (A).
- Remove the engine ground cable (A).
- Remove the alternator ground cable (A).
- Remove the Steering U-joint mounting bolts (A).
(Refer to Steering System - "STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT ")
- Remove the MDPS connector (A).
- Remove the front muffler.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "MUFFLER ")
- Remove the front knuckle assembly.
(Refer to Drive Shaft and Axle - "FRONT HUB/KNUCKLE ")
- Remove the transmission Inhibitor cable (A), and the ground (B).
- Remove the left and right subframe Bracket (A).
- Remove the propeller shaft.
(Refer to Drive Shaft and Axle - "PROPELLER SHAFT ")
- Support the sub frame (A) securely with a floor jack, and then remove the sub frame mounting bolts and the Transmission mounting bolts (B).
Tightening Torque:
Sub frame: 137.3 - 156.9 N.m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb-ft)
Transmission mounting: 49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)
- Remove the engine assembly and sub frame by lifting vehicle.CAUTION:
- When removing the engine and transmission assembly, be careful not to damage any surrounding parts or body components.
