Removal And Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal from the trunk room.
  2. Remove the engine cover.
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  4. Disconnect the fuel hose (A, B) and Brake vacuum hose (C).

  5. Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps and remove the connector brackets around the surge tank.

  6. Disconnect the breather hose (A).

  7. Disconnect the vacuum hose (A), styrofoam (B).

  8. Remove the throttle body assembly (A).

    Tightening Torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)

  9. Remove the surge tank fixing bracket (A).

  10. Remove the surge tank (A).

    Tightening Torque 

    Step 1: 3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 Ib-ft)

    Step 2: 9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 Ib-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Tighten the surge tank bolts in two or three steps.
  11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
