RH Cylinder Head Cover

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install the RH cylinder head cover.
    CAUTION:
    • Install the cylinder head cover under the exhaust oil control valve (OCV) cap is removed.
    • To prevent engine oil leakage, surely install the exhaust OCV cap after installing the cylinder head cover.
    1. The hardening sealant located on the upper area between timing chain cover and cylinder head should be removed before assembling cylinder head cover.
    2. After applying THREE BOND 1217H sealant, it should be assembled within 5 minutes.

      Bead Width:  4.5 mm (0.17 in.)

    3. The firing and/or blow out test should not be performed within 30 minutes after the cylinder head cover is assembled.
    4. Install the RH Cylinder Head Cover Bolts as following method.

      Tightening Torque: 

      1st step:

      4.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 - 4.3 lb-ft)

      2nd step:

      9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

      NOTE:
      • Do not reuse the cylinder head cover gasket.
    5. Install the RH exhaust CVVT Oil Control Valve Cap.

      Tightening Torque: 

      9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

      NOTE:
      • Always use a new exhaust CVVT oil control valve cap.
  2. To install the other parts, reverse the removal procedure.
