DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Main Action
  • Voltage range check
  1. Short to battery in signal harness
  2. Open in signal or ground circuit
  3. Poor connection or damaged harness
  4. Faulty ECT sensor
Prerequisite condition
  • Battery voltage is between 6V and 16V
  • IAT (Intake Air Temperature) is higher than or equal to -30°C (-22°F).
  • Elapsed time after starting engine is longer than 60 seconds.
Threshold Value
  • ECT Sensor output voltage is higher than 4.93V (ECT is lower than -40°C (-40°F))
  • Sensor signal circuit is open or shorted to battery power supply.
Diagnostic Time
  • Continuously

  • 3rd Driving Cycle
