MAPS Performance Inspection

Turn "OFF" the ignition switch. Connect a GDS and oscilloscope.
Connect CH A probe to signal terminal of TPS and CH B probe to signal terminal of MAPS connector.
Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
Measure signal waveform of MAPS and TPS together by actuating the throttle.
Specification: Refer to Signal Waveform & Data.
Is the measured signal waveform (Comparison response of TPS with MAPS) O.K?
YES
- Check blockage or leakage at components related to intake. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known-good MAPS and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace MAPS and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
