Detecting Condition |
Possible cause |
| Main Action |
- Check fuel rail/system pressure
|
- Poor fuel return
- Rail pressure sensor stick at high value
|
| Case 1 |
Prerequisite condition |
- Engine speed is higher than 512 rpm.
|
| Threshold value |
- Filtered fuel pressure is higher than 27.9MPa.
|
| Case 2 |
Prerequisite condition |
- No additional warm-up fueling is activated (ECT is sufficiently higher than 73°C/163.4°F).
- Full load, catalyst purge and leakage detection is not active.
- Fuel trim control is functioning.
- Engine speed is between 512 rpm and 4000 rpm.
- Mass fuel flow is between 0.08 r/rev and 0.12r/rev.
- Elapsed time after starting is longer than 15 seconds.
- Volume fuel flow is lower than 7.6 l/h to 102 l/h.
- Canister load is lower than 0.5.
|
| Threshold value |
- High pressure pump delivery is too high.
- Fuel trim controller including long term fuel trim is between -15% and 15%.
- Fuel pressure controller is greater than -0.06g.
|
| Case 3 |
Prerequisite condition |
- Elapsed time after starting is longer than 2 seconds.
- Engine coolant temperature during starting is between -10°C/14°F and 33°C/91.4°F.
- Volume fuel flow is lower than 7.6 l/h to 102 l/h.
- Mass fuel flow is greater than 0.008g/rev.
- Engine speed is higher than 512 rpm.
|
| Threshold value |
- Fuel pressure during catalyst heating is too high.
- Fuel pressure difference between set-point and measured value is lower than -1.5MPa.
