Component Inspection: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition switch is turned "OFF". Connect a GDS and oscilloscope.
- Connect CH A, B probe to (+),(-) control terminal of e-CVVT connector.
- Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
- Measure signal waveform of e-CVVT control together by actuating the throttle.
Specification: Signal waveform will be displayed as Signal Waveform & Data
- Is the measured value within specification?
YES
- Check for poor connection between ECM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Check the mechanical connection between e-CVVT assembly and camshaft.
- Visually check oil leakage around e-CVVT assembly.
- Substitute with a known-good e-CVVT and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace e-CVVT and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NOTE:
When the electric e-CVVT assembly is replaced or remounted, make sure to use the additional feature menu on the GDS diagnosis equipment and reset the learned value.
