Removal Procedure
- Drain and properly dispose of the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir.
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
- Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Radiator Surge Tank Replacement
Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir (1) - Remove - Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement
Remove the 4 front brake pipe nuts (2) and reposition the brake pipes (1).
- Cap the 4 brake pipe inlets to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Brake Master Cylinder Nut (1) - Remove [3x]
Electrical Connector (1) @ Brake System Control Module - Disconnect
Depress the brake pedal retainer (1) locking tabs.
- Pull the brake pedal (2) outwards to release it from the brake pedal retainer (1).
- Brake Pedal Retainer (1) - Remove and DISCARD
Maneuver the brake master cylinder (1) out of the vehicle.
- Clean any brake fluid from the underbody area and remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
