Removal Procedure

  1. Drain and properly dispose of the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir.
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  3. Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Radiator Surge Tank Replacement

    Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir (1) - Remove - Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement

    Remove the 4 front brake pipe nuts (2) and reposition the brake pipes (1).

  6. Cap the 4 brake pipe inlets to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

    Brake Master Cylinder Nut (1) - Remove [3x]

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Brake System Control Module - Disconnect

    Depress the brake pedal retainer (1) locking tabs.

  10. Pull the brake pedal (2) outwards to release it from the brake pedal retainer (1).
  11. Brake Pedal Retainer (1) - Remove and DISCARD

    Maneuver the brake master cylinder (1) out of the vehicle.

  13. Clean any brake fluid from the underbody area and remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
