Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
Turn the 3 front compartment sight shield retainers (1) a quarter turn counter clockwise to release.
Front Compartment Side Sight Shield (1) - Remove
- NOTE:
Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool.
Front Fender Ornamentation Vent Bolt (2) - Remove
- Release the retainers.
- Front Fender Ornamentation Vent (1) - Remove
Front Fender Paint Protector Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]
- Front Fender Paint Protector (2) - Remove
Apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces.
- Front Wheel Opening Molding Retainer (1) - Disengage [2x]
- Front Wheel Opening Molding Retainer (2) - Disengage [12x]
- Front Wheel Opening Molding (3) - Remove
Front Bumper Fascia (1) - Remove - Front Bumper Fascia Removal and Installation
Front Bumper Fascia Guide Bolt (1) Remove [2x]
- Front Fender Bolt (2) - Remove
- Front Bumper Fascia Guide (3) - Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Standard Service) , or Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Mobile Service)
Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.
- Assist Step Bracket Cover - Front (1) - Remove
Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.
- Assist Step Bracket Cover - Center (1) - Remove
Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.
- Assist Step Bracket Cover - Rear (1) - Remove
Assist Step Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]
Assist Step Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]
With the aid of an assistant, remove the assist step (1).
Rocker Panel Molding Jacking Opening Front Cover (1) - Remove
- Open the front and rear door.
Front Side Door Lower Auxiliary Weatherstrip Retainer (1) - Release [10x]
- Front Side Door Lower Auxiliary Weatherstrip (2) - Reposition
Using an appropriate trim tool, release the upper rocker panel molding retainers and pull the rocker panel front molding (1) away from the rocker outer panel reinforcement
- Rocker Panel Front Molding (1) - Remove
Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer (2) - Remove
- Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]
- Front Wheelhouse Rear Liner (3) - Remove
Front Fender Filler Insulator Clip (1) - Remove
- Pull the front fender insulator (2) down and out from the front fender.
Headlamp Bolt (1) - Remove
- Front Fender Bolt (2) - Remove [3x]
- Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (3) - Remove
Front Fender Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]
- Front Fender Nut (2) - Remove
Front Fender (1) - Remove
