Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R -134a) , or Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
- Remove the left front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)
- NOTE:
Some components not shown for graphic clarity.
Radiator Surge Tank Bolt (1) - Remove
- Without opening the cooling system position the radiator surge tank (2) aside.
Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Remove
- Cap the brake master cylinder outlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle - Remove - Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (AWD) , or Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (FWD) , or Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (AT4)
Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger Nut (1) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube - Remove [2x]
- Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger (2) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube - Remove
- Air Conditioning Evaporator Outlet Tube Seal (3) - Remove and DISCARD
- Air Conditioning Evaporator Inlet Tube Seal (4) - Remove and DISCARD
Auxiliary Heater Inlet Hose (1) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube - Remove - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Auxiliary Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (2) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube - Remove - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube Nut (2) Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube (1) - Remove [2x]
Air Conditioning Condenser and Air Conditioning Evaporator Tube Clamp Nut (1) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube - Remove
- NOTE:
Only the front bolt needs to be removed.
Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube Bolt (1) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube (2) - Remove
- Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube (2) - Reposition
Fuel Feed Hose Protector Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
- Fuel Feed Pipe Protector (2) - Remove
Retainer (2) @ Fuel Feed Pipe (1) - Remove [3x]
- Fuel Feed Pipe (1) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Evaporative Emission Front Pipe (1) @ Evaporative Emission Canister - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Front Brake Pipe Clip (1) - Disengage [2x]
Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Remove
- Plug the front brake hose inlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Front Brake Pipe Clip (1) - Disengage [2x]
Maneuver the right front brake pipe (1) out of the vehicle.
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R -134a) , or Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
- Remove the left front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)

Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger Nut (1) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube - Remove [2x]
- Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger (2) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube - Remove
- Air Conditioning Evaporator Outlet Tube Seal (3) - Remove and DISCARD
- Air Conditioning Evaporator Inlet Tube Seal (4) - Remove and DISCARD
Auxiliary Heater Inlet Hose (1) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube - Remove - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Auxiliary Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (2) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube - Remove - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube Nut (2) Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube (1) - Remove [2x]
Air Conditioning Condenser and Air Conditioning Evaporator Tube Clamp Nut (1) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube - Remove
- NOTE:
Only the front bolt needs to be removed.
Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube Bolt (1) @ Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube (2) - Remove
- Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube (2) - Reposition
Fuel Feed Hose Protector Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
- Fuel Feed Pipe Protector (2) - Remove
Retainer (2) @ Fuel Feed Pipe (1) - Remove [4x]
- Fuel Feed Pipe (1) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Evaporative Emission Front Pipe (2) @ Evaporative Emission Canister - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Front Brake Pipe Clip (1) - Disengage [2x]
Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Remove
- Plug the front brake hose inlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Front Brake Pipe Clip (1) - Disengage [2x]
Maneuver the right front brake pipe (1) out of the vehicle.
