Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Remove the left front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  3. Oil Filler Cap - Remove

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    To avoid small parts like bolts or retainers fallen into the engine, install the Oil Filler Cap.

    Oil Filler Cap (1) - Install

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Fresh Air Tube (1) @ Air Cleaner Outlet Duct - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

    Turbocharger Outlet Duct Front Clamp (1) - Loosen

  8. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (5) - Loosen
  9. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
  10. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Nut (3) - Remove
  11. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (4) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Radiator Surge Tank Bolt (1) - Remove

  13. Without opening the cooling system position the radiator surge tank (2) aside.

    Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Remove

  15. Cap the brake master cylinder outlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

    Front Brake Pipe Clip (1) - Disengage [2x]

    Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Remove

  18. Plug the front brake hose inlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

    Maneuver the left front brake pipe (1) out of the vehicle.
