Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Oil Filler Cap - Remove
Intake Manifold Cover (1) - Remove
- NOTE:
To avoid small parts like bolts or retainers fallen into the engine, install the Oil Filler Cap.
Oil Filler Cap (1) - Install
Positive Crankcase Ventilation Fresh Air Tube (1) @ Air Cleaner Outlet Duct - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Turbocharger Outlet Duct Front Clamp (1) - Loosen
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (5) - Loosen
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Nut (3) - Remove
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (4) - Remove
Turbocharger Outlet Duct Rear Clamp (1) - Loosen
- Turbocharger Outlet Duct Connector (2) - Remove
- NOTE:
Some components not shown for graphic clarity.
Radiator Surge Tank Bolt (1) - Remove
- Without opening the cooling system position the radiator surge tank (2) aside.
Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)
- Brake Pipe Fitting (2) - Remove [4x]
- Plug the brake master cylinder ports and the brake pipes to stop fluid loss and contamination.
Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)
- Brake Master Cylinder Bracket Nut (2) - Remove
- NOTE:
Some components not shown for graphic clarity.
Brake Master Cylinder Bracket Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
- With the aid of an assistant, hold the brake master cylinder away from the dash panel.
Brake Pedal Retainer (1) - Release
- Brake Pedal (2) - Release
- NOTE:
Insert a long, thin tool through the power brake booster pass-through from the engine compartment to remove the brake pedal retainer.
Brake Pedal Retainer (1) - Remove and DISCARD
Remove the brake master cylinder (1) from the vehicle.
Brake Master Cylinder Adapter Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Brake Master Cylinder Adapter (2) - Remove
Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Bolt (2) - Remove
Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Seal (1) - Remove and DISCARD [3x]
Label the brake pipes to ensure they are re-installed in the correct ports of the brake master cylinder.
Pull the brake pedal rearward to release.
