Predicted Engine Oil Temperature Gauge (if equipped)

The Instrument Cluster displays an estimated engine oil temperature as determined by the engine control module (ECM). The ECM monitors various engine sensors and other data such as engine run-time, load, RPM, etc. to determine a estimated engine oil temperature. There is no hard-wired Engine Oil Temperature Sensor in this application. The ECM sends the engine oil temperature information via serial data to the instrument cluster to display the engine oil temperature.
