Installation Procedure

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Brace (4) - Install

    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bracket Nut (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications 
  3. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Deflector (2) - Install
  4. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Body Control Module Bracket (2) - Install

  6. Body Control Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Serial Data Gateway Bracket (2) - Install

  8. Serial Data Gateway Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Radio Bracket (2) - Install

  10. Radio Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Install the instrument panel wiring harness (1) to the instrument panel tie bar (2).

  12. Connect the electrical connectors and install the wiring harness retainers as necessary.
  13. Data Link Connector Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    Left side shown, right side similar.

    Using an appropriate tool, move the left side and right side retaining tabs (1) back to their original positions to allow the retention of the instrument panel tie bar.

    NOTE:
    • The wiring harness will remain attached to the instrument panel tie bar (1).
    • Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    With the aid of an assistant, position the instrument panel tie bar (1) into the vehicle.

    Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

  19. Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications 

  21. Body Hinge Pillar Outer Panel Hole Plug (1) - Install [4x]
  22. Remove the support from the heater and air conditioning evaporator and blower module.

    NOTE:
    • Note the location and routing of the instrument panel wiring harness prior to removal to ensure proper installation.
    • Quantity of connectors may vary based on option content.
    • Quantity of retainers may vary based on option content.

    Connect the electrical connectors. (2) [2x]

    Driver Footrest Bracket (1) - Install

    Driver Footrest Retainer (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  30. Move the front floor panel mat back into position.

    Starting at the front of the front side door sill garnish molding (1) engage the 2 retaining clips on the forward vertical wall on both sides of the vehicle.

    Engage the retaining clips at the front of the side door sill garnish moldings (1) on both sides of the vehicle.

  40. Install the front of the side door weatherstrips as necessary.

    Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace (2) - Install

    Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Install

    Air Inlet Grille Panel (2) - Install

  61. Windshield Washer Nozzle Hose - Connect
  62. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Install [4x]

    Clean the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft splines with a soft wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arms (3).

  64. Position the windshield wiper arms (3) on the windshield wiper transmission pivot shafts.
  65. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  66. Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap (1) - Install [3x]
  67. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

    If required, realign the windshield wipers to their respective alignment circles (1) on the windshield.

  69. Lubricate the windshield with clean washer fluid.
  70. Run the windshield wipers for two complete cycles then turn off the windshield wipers.
  71. Ensure the windshield wipers are in the full park position.
