Circuit/System Verification

  1. Vehicle in Service Mode.
  2. Verify that no DTCs are set.
    • Go to next step: If no DTC is set 
  3. Review the Battery Energy Control Module scan tool parameters Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Battery Pack Capacity, Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Battery Pack 2 Capacity and Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Battery Interface Control Module (1 through 24) Capacity. Verify if the parameter identify a single CMA as the reason for low battery capacity.
    • If a single CMA low capacity level exists 
    • Replace the applicable low capacity CMA to restore total capacity and eliminate the message.
    • Go to next step: If multiple CMA low capacity levels exist 
  4. Replace the A4 Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Battery Pack to restore capacity and eliminate the message.
