Circuit/System Description

The K291 Hybrid Electric Vehicle Battery Pack Communication Module incorporates The Thermal Runaway Temperature Sensors, Thermal Runaway Gas Sensors, and Thermal Runaway Pressure Sensors and is located inside the A4 Hybrid Vehicle Battery Pack. There are 2 of each sensor, one primary and one secondary. The primary and secondary sensors values are compared to determine a fault. The sensors monitor A4 Hybrid Vehicle Battery Pack internal temperature, off-gas, and pressure of the high voltage battery pack to detect thermal runaway and propagation status, and reporting the diagnostic status to K16A Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) through the K291 Hybrid Electric Vehicle Battery Pack Communication Module via wired communication circuits.
