Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
  2. Place the rear sliding window in the down position.

    Front Seat- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x] - Front Seat Removal and Installation

    Rear Seat Cushion (2) - Remove - Rear Seat Cushion Removal and Installation

    Front Seat Belt Anchor Plate Tensioner Cover- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

  6. Front Seat Belt Anchor Plate Tensioner Bolt- Upper- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.

  8. Center Pillar Lower Garnish Molding Lower Hole Cover- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Use a flat bladed plastic tool between the center pillar lower trim panel (1) and the center pillar upper trim panel to disengage the upper retaining clips.

  10. Pull from both sides of the center pillar center trim panel (1) to release the middle and lower retaining clips.
  11. Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Reposition the front and rear side door weatherstrips as necessary.

  13. Feed the seat belt tensioner through the panel.
  14. NOTE:

    Use a flat bladed plastic tool to remove.

  15. Side Door Sill Garnish Molding- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Insert a suitable flat-bladed plastic trim tool between the rear seat position center reading and courtesy lamp (1) and headlining rear trim panel (2).

  17. Separate the rear seat position center reading and courtesy lamp (1) from the headlining rear trim panel (2).

    Pull downward to release the retaining tabs.

  19. Rear Seat Position Center Reading and Courtesy Lamp (1) - Remove
  20. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Use a flat-bladed plastic trim tool to release the retaining clips.

  22. Disconnect the wiring harness retainer.
  23. Headlining Rear Trim Panel (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Use a flat bladed plastic tool to release the retaining clips.

  25. Rear Window Lower Garnish Molding (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    The body side rear window garnish molding does not need to be removed from the vehicle.

    Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Reposition [2x]

    Starting at the top and working down with a trim tool, grasp the body lock pillar garnish molding (1) and gently pull the panel away from the body to release the retainers.

  28. Body Lock Pillar Garnish Molding- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Using the appropriate tool, lift up and remove the rear window weatherstrip (1).

    Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  31. Accessory AC and DC Power Control Module Nut (1) - Remove [3x]
  32. Accessory AC and DC Power Control Module (2) - Remove

    Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  34. Active Safety Control Module Bracket Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
  35. Release the retainer.
  36. Active Safety Control Module Bracket (2) - Remove

    Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  38. Communication Interface Module Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
  39. Release the retainer.
  40. Communication Interface Module Bracket (2) - Remove

    Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  42. Radio Speaker Amplifier Nut (1) - Remove [3x]
  43. Radio Speaker Amplifier (2) - Remove

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  45. Pedestrian Sound Alert Module Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
  46. Pedestrian Sound Alert Module (2) - Remove
  47. Disconnect the wiring harness retainers.

    Remove the 8 rear end panel reinforcement bolts (1).

  49. Feed the rear seat center belt, anchor plate, and buckle through the rear seat belt guide.

    Remove the 20 rear panel access bolts (1).

  51. With the aid of an assistant, remove the rear end panel reinforcement from the vehicle and place on a clean surface.

    Disconnect the rear sliding window defogger electrical connector (1) from the rear sliding window wiring harness.

  53. Disconnect the wiring harness retainer.

    Release and remove the rear sliding window (1) from the rear sliding window sash (2).

    Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the rear sliding window motor.

    Remove 5 rear sliding window regulator bolts (1).

    Remove the rear sliding window regulator (1) from the rear end panel reinforcement.
