Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
Front Trim Finish Compartment (2) - Remove - Front Trim Finish Compartment Removal and Installation
Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Hood Primary and Secondary Latch (2) - Reposition
- Disconnect the electrical connector and release the wiring harness retainers as necessary.
Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Release Cable Retainer (1) - Reposition [6x]
- Front Stowage Compartment Latch Actuator Cable (2) - Reposition [2x]
- Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Release Cable (3) - Reposition
Hood Primary Latch Mount Panel Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Front Bumper Shutter Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [4x]
- Hood Front Bumper Bracket Support (2) - Remove [2x]
Front Bumper Shutter Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Front Bumper Shutter (2) - Remove
- NOTE:
- Airbag front end discriminating sensor assembly bolt uses Left Hand threads. Use counterclockwise rotation to loosen fastener at TORX® tip end. If accessing at pan head end of the fastener, use clockwise rotation to loosen bolt.
- The bolts are integral to the airbag front end discriminating sensor, DO NOT remove separately.
- Right side shown, left side similar.
Loosen the 2 left side and right side fasteners until disengaged and slide the airbag front end discriminating sensors (1) out of the keyhole slots.
- Disconnect all electrical connectors.[2x]
- Remove the harness retainers as needed.
- Airbag Front End Discriminating Sensor- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]
Hood Primary Latch Support Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]
- Hood Primary Latch Support (2) - Remove
Front Bumper Fascia Center Support Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Remove the 2 Front Bumper Fascia Center Support Bracket Spacers (2).
