Removal Procedure

  1. GM5775549
    NOTE:

    Left side shown, right side similar.

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips on both sides of the vehicle.

  2. Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Reposition the weatherstrip as necessary.

  4. Use a flat-bladed plastic tool to disengage the retaining clip at the top of the body hinge pillar garnish molding (1) on both sides of the vehicle.
  5. Body Hinge Pillar Garnish Molding- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Use a flat bladed plastic tool to disengage the windshield pillar assist handle covers (1) from the windshield garnish molding on both sides of the vehicle.

  7. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [4x]
  8. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [4x]

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips on both sides of the vehicle.

  10. Windshield Garnish Molding- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]
  11. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool.

    Reposition the instrument panel extension (1) to access the electrical connector.

  13. Disconnect the electrical connector from the instrument panel extension (1).

    Instrument Panel Extension (1) - Remove

    Instrument Cluster Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  17. Reposition the instrument cluster (1) to access the electrical connector.
  18. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Remove the left and right front floor mat (1).

    Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool.

    Front Floor Console Extension Panel Bolt Access Hole Cover (1) - Remove

  22. Front Floor Console Extension Bolt (2) - Remove

    Move the front seat to access the retainers.

  24. Front Floor Console Extension Panel (1) - Remove

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  26. Front Floor Console Lower Applique (1) - Remove

    Tire Repair Sealer and Tire Air Compressor Retainer (1) - Remove

  28. Tire Air Compressor (2) - Remove

    Rear Floor Mat (1) - Remove

    Move the front seat to access the retainers.

    Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool.

  31. Front Floor Console Bolt Access Hole Cover (1) - Remove
  32. Front Floor Console Retainer Bolt (2) - Remove [5x]

    Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool.

    Move the front seat to access the retainers.

  34. Front Floor Console Extension Panel (1) - Remove

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  36. Front Floor Console Lower Applique (1) - Remove

    Move the front seat to access the retainers.

    38. NOTE:

    Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool.

  38. Front Floor Console Bolt Access Hole Cover (1) - Remove
  39. Front Floor Console Retainer Bolt (2) - Remove [5x]

    Disconnect the electrical connectors from the front floor console (1).

  41. Slide the front floor console (1) back enough to clear the instrument panel.

    Instrument Panel Compartment Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]

    Open the instrument panel compartment door.

  44. Instrument Panel Compartment Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  46. Instrument Panel Compartment (1) - Remove

    Radio Front Speaker Grille Bolt (1) - Remove

  48. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.
  49. Radio Front Speaker Grille- Left Side (2) - Remove

    Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) - Remove

  51. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  53. Reposition the component to access the electrical connectors.
  54. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  55. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster (1) - Remove

    Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  57. GM5808419

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.

  58. Instrument Panel Air Outlet Bezel (1) - Remove

    Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  60. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
  61. Instrument Panel Trim Pad - Left Side (2) - Remove

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]

  63. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
  64. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel (2) - Remove

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tab.

  66. Instrument Panel Bolt Cover (1) - Remove [2x]

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.

  68. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Cover (1) - Remove

    Radio Control Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

    Radio Control Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

    Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Radio Front Speaker Grille Bolt (1) - Remove

  74. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.
  75. Radio Front Speaker Grille- Right Side (2) - Remove

    Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.

  78. Instrument Panel Air Outlet Bezel (1) - Remove

    Instrument Panel Trim Plate Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  80. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
  81. Instrument Panel Trim Plate (2) - Remove

    Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) - Remove [8x]

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  84. Reposition the instrument panel trim pad (1) to access the electrical connectors.
  85. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  86. Instrument Panel Trim Pad - Right Side (1) - Remove
  87. Extend the steering column to its furthest point to allow the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover to clear the instrument panel.

    Using a small plastic trim tool, separate the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) from the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.

    Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)

    Using a small plastic trim tool, release the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) from the instrument panel carrier.
