Removal Procedure

  1. Extend the steering column to its furthest point to allow the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover to clear the instrument panel.
  2. GM5819296

    Using a small plastic trim tool, separate the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) from the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover and reposition.

  3. GM5821242

    Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the left of the centered position.

  4. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) - Remove
  5. GM5821243

    Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the right of the centered position.

  6. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) - Remove
  7. Turn the steering wheel to the centered position.

    Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) - Remove

  9. GM5821245

    Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover (1) - Remove

  10. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  11. GM5821247

    Release the retaining tabs and remove the steering column tilt wheel and telescope switch (1) from the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.

  12. Steering Column Tilt Wheel and Telescope Switch (1) - Remove
