Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant

    Place a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant on the block pan rail and the crankshaft rear oil seal housing (1). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  2. Oil Pan (2) - Install
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Oil Pan Bolt (3) - Install NEW and tighten in sequence [3x]
    1. First Pass: 7 N.m (62 lb in)
    2. Final Pass: 180 degrees
  4. Oil Pan Bolt (4) - Tighten in sequence to 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  5. Oil Pan Bolt (5) - Tighten in sequence [3x] 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  6. Oil Pan Bolt (6) - Tighten in sequence [9x] 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  7. Oil Pan Bolt (7) - Tighten in sequence to 25 N.m (18 lb ft)

    Transmission Bolt (1) - Install [3x] - Transmission Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)

    Transmission Bolt (2) - Install - Transmission Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Engine Oil Level Indicator Switch - Connect

    Engine Oil Cooler (2) - Install - Engine Oil Cooler Replacement (LGX)

    Exhaust Front Pipe-Bank 2 (1) - Install - Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (Bank 2, LGX)

    Transfer Case Bracket (2) - Install - Transfer Case Bracket Replacement (LGX)

  14. Fill the engine oil to the proper level with NEW engine oil.
  15. Start the engine and inspect for leaks.
