Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LCV)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LCV, LGX) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 LCV, LGX) 
  2. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV From Radiator Surge Tank to Radiator and Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe) 
  3. Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose Replacement (LCV Radiator Surge Tank to Heater Inlet Hose Connector) , or Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose Replacement (LCV Heater Inlet Hose Connector at Heater Inlet Hose Bracket to Heater Inlet Hose Connector at Heater Core) 
  4. {If equipped} Power Transfer Unit Vent Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Remove
1 Radiator Surge Tank Bolt
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Radiator Surge Tank

Procedure

  1. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LCV, LGX) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 LCV, LGX) 
  2. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
