Line Pressure Check

Special Tools 

GE-21867  Pressure Gauge

Equivalent regional tools: Special Tools .

    WARNING:

    Keep the brakes applied at all times in order to prevent unexpected vehicle motion. Personal injury may result if the vehicle moves unexpectedly.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Inspect the transmission for the proper fluid level, refer to Transmission Fluid Level and Condition Check .
  3. Turn the engine OFF.
  4. NOTE:

    You may need to remove or disconnect components in order to gain access to the transmission line pressure test hole plug.

  5. Line Pressure Test Hole Plug (1) - Remove Automatic Transmission Fluid Pressure Test Hole Plug Replacement
  6. GE-21867  Pressure Gauge - Install
  7. Start the engine.
  8. Verify the Transmission Fluid Pressure = Greater than 345 kPa (50 PSI)
    • Go to next step: If greater than 345 kPa (50 PSI) 
  9. Turn the engine OFF.
  10. GE-21867  Pressure Gauge - Remove
  11. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  12. Line Pressure Test Hole Plug (1) - Install and tighten Automatic Transmission Fluid Pressure Test Hole Plug Replacement
