Removal Procedure

- Engine Front Cover Replacement - Remove
- Set the engine to top dead center (TDC).
Inspect the timing chain marks (1, 2, and 3) to confirm they are properly aligned.
Install camshaft holding tool EN-51367 (1).
Reset the tensioner plunger (1). Timing Chain Tensioner Replacement
Timing Chain Guide Fastener(1) - Remove[3x]
- Timing Chain Guide(2) - Remove
- Inspect, timing components as necessary. For camshaft timing chain, oil nozzle, sprocket and tensioner cleaning and inspection. Camshaft Timing Chain and Sprocket Cleaning and Inspection .
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the timing chain from the sprockets.
