- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief
Fuel Feed Front Pipe (1) @ Engine - Disconnect - Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement
- Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
Intake Manifold Cover(3) - Remove - Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
- Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube Replacement
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement
- Air Cleaner Assembly - Remove - Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
Battery Tray(3) - Remove - Battery Tray Replacement
- Radiator Inlet Hose - Remove - Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LYX)Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LTG with KL9)

Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe(2)@Radiator Assembly - Disconnect - Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (LTG/LYX)
- Disconnect electrical connections and reposition harnesses as needed.
- Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft-Left Side(1) - Remove - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side
- Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft-Right Side(1) - Remove - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (AWD)Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (M3U, MHG, MNH, MNK with FWD)Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (M3D, M3H with FWD)
Intermediate Steering Shaft(1) - Remove - Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Equinox)Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Terrain)
- NOTE:
Right side shown, left side is similar.
Remove left and right side the stabilizer link nuts (1) then disconnect the links at the stabilizer. Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Equinox)Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Terrain)
- NOTE:
Right side shown, left side is similar.
Remove the left and right side tie rod nuts (1), then disconnect the tie rods (2) from the steering knuckles. Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement
Evaporative Emission Front Hose(1) - Remove - Evaporative Emission Front Hose Replacement
- Position a suitable engine table or equivalent under the cradle to support the cradle and powertrain.
Engine Mount Fastener(1) - Remove and DISCARD [2x] - Engine Mount Replacement
- NOTE:
ONLY the fasteners (2) should be removed and DISCARDED
Transmission Mount Fastener(2) - Remove and DISCARD[3x] - Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side
- NOTE:
Use a suitable device to hold the cradle while removing the fasteners.
NOTE:Remove ONLY the body to frame bolts as the powertrain will be removed while still bolted to the frame.
Remove bolts necessary to remove the cradle (1) (2) and (3). Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Carefully lower the engine table and raise the body on the hoist until the engine/transaxle and frame are separated from the vehicle.
- Separate the engine from the transmission. Transmission Replacement (FWD)Transmission Replacement (AWD)
- Install the engine to a suitable engine stand.
- Transfer components as necessary.
