Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install the transmission to the engine. Transmission Replacement (FWD)Transmission Replacement (AWD)
  2. Position the powertrain and support table under the vehicle.
  3. Raise the powertrain into position under the vehicle.
  4. With the table positioned, if required, lower the vehicle over the powertrain.

    NOTE:

    Install the previously removed body to frame bolts to secure the frame and powertrain.

    Install bolts (1) (2) and frame (3). Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (All Wheel Drive)

    Transmission Mount Fastener(2) - Install a NEW bolt.[3x] - Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side

    Engine Mount Fastener(1) - Install a NEW bolt. [2x] - Engine Mount Replacement 

  8. Remove the suitable engine table or equivalent from under the powertrain and cradle.
  9. Reconnect electrical connections and reposition harnesses as needed.

    Intermediate Steering Shaft(1) - Install - Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Equinox)Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Terrain)

    Intake Manifold Cover(3) - Install - Intake Manifold Cover Replacement 

  32. Recharge the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
  33. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)
    34. NOTE:

    Prelube is necessary if the engine is replaced or overhauled.

  34. If the engine is replaced with a new engine or has been overhauled, perform the engine prelubing procedure. Engine Prelubing 
  35. If the engine has not been replaced or overhauled, check and correct engine oil level as needed. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
