Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Ensure the actuator timing marks are approximately the 12 O'clock position.

    Timing Chain(1) - Install

    Ensure that the colored link (3) matches to the arrow on the crankshaft sprocket.

  3. Ensure that the colored links (1, 2) match to the marks on the camshaft position adjuster actuators.

    Install a NEW gasket.(2)

  5. Timing Chain Tensioner(1) - Install
    6. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  6. Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt(4) - Install and tighten25 N.m (18 lb ft) [2x].

    Timing Chain Tensioner Shoe(2) - Install

  8. Timing Chain Tensioner Shoe Bolt(1) - Install and tighten25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  9. Remove the suitable tool from the timing chain tensioner.

    Remove the EN-51367  holder (1).

  11. Timing Chain Upper Guide Replacement  - Install
  12. Check the position of the crankshaft, camshaft and camshaft position actuator adjuster.
    1. Install the engine front cover with 4 bolts and the crankshaft balancer.

      Turn crankshaft 720 degrees in the direction of engine rotation by the crankshaft balancer bolt (2).

    Install the EN-51367  holder (1).

  14. If the EN-51367  holder (1) can be installed, the engine timing is properly adjusted.
  15. Remove the EN-51367  holder.
  16. Remove the engine front cover and crankshaft balancer.
