Camshaft Timing Chain Inspection

EN-51367  Camshaft Holder

1. Camshaft Cover - Remove - Camshaft Cover Replacement 
2. Front Wheelhouse Liner-Right Side - Remove - Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Equinox)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Terrain)

   Adjust the engine to cylinder 1 top dead center (TDC) of combustion stroke. Using the balancer bolt (3) rotate the crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until the markings (1, 2) line up.

   Install the EN-51367  holder (1).

NOTE:

The marks of the camshaft position actuators must be at the 12 O'clock position.

5. If the EN-51367  holder (1) can be installed, the engine timing is properly adjusted.
6. If the EN-51367  holder (1) can't be installed, inspect for wear, damage and proper installation of the timing chain components and replace as necessary. Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement 
7. Remove the EN-51367  holder (1).
8. Camshaft Cover - Install - Camshaft Cover Replacement 
9. Front Wheelhouse Liner-Right Side - Install - Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Equinox)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Terrain)
