Installation Procedure

    Position the transmission rear mount strut bracket (3) to the transmission.

  2. Prepare the NEW transmission rear mount strut bracket bolts for installation as follows:
    1. Remove all traces of the adhesive patch from the transmission rear mount strut bracket bolts and the mating threads using the appropriate tools.
    2. Clean the threads of the transmission rear mount strut bracket bolts and mating threads with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the transmission rear mount strut bracket bolts. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the transmission rear mount strut bracket bolts.
  3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install the 2 NEW transmission rear mount strut bracket bolts (1) and (2) first and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft) plus 60 - 75 degrees.
  5. Install the 2 NEW transmission rear mount strut bracket to transmission bolts (4) and (5) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft) plus 60 - 75 degrees.
  6. Install the transmission mount strut. Transmission Mount Strut Replacement (All Wheel Drive) , or Transmission Mount Strut Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)
