Component Testing

- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector : S3 Transmission Shift Lever
- Test for 5, 900 to 6, 400 ohms between the test points : Signal terminal 3 & Ground terminal
- If not between 5, 900 and 6, 400 ohms
Replace the component : S3 Transmission Shift Lever
- Go to next step : If between 5, 900 and 6, 400 ohms
- If not between 5, 900 and 6, 400 ohms
- Press and hold the switch : S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Downshift
- Test for 1, 900 to 2, 100 ohms between the test points : Signal terminal 3 & Ground terminal
- If not between 1, 900 and 2, 100 ohms
Replace the component : S3 Transmission Shift Lever
- Go to next step : If between 1, 900 and 2, 100 ohms
- If not between 1, 900 and 2, 100 ohms
- Press and hold the switch : S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Upshift
- Test for 600 to 660 ohms between the test points : Signal terminal 3 & Ground terminal
- If not between 600 and 660 ohms
Replace the component : S3 Transmission Shift Lever
- Go to next step : If between 600 and 660 ohms
- If not between 600 and 660 ohms
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points : Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component : S3 Transmission Shift Lever
- Go to next step : If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- All OK.
