Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .

CAUTION:

Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

    Remove the brake pipe fitting (1) from the brake hose.

  4. Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

    Remove the brake hose retaining clip (1).

    Remove the brake hose fitting bolt (1).

    Remove the rear brake hose fitting (1) from the rear brake caliper.

  8. Plug the rear brake caliper inlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
    9. NOTE:

    Do not reuse the brake hose fitting gaskets.

  9. Remove and discard the brake hose fitting gaskets (2).
  10. Remove the rear brake hose.
