Installation Procedure
- Prepare the brake pedal pushrod bolt for installation as follows:
- Remove all traces of the adhesive patch from the bolt and the mating threads using the appropriate tools.
- Clean the threads of the bolt and mating threads with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the bolt. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the bolt.
- Have an assistant position and hold the power brake booster to the dash panel.
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Install the right side upper power brake booster nut (1) and tighten to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).
Install the left side lower power brake booster nut (1) and tighten to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).
Install the left side upper and right side lower power brake booster nuts (1) and tighten to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).
- Install the brake pedal pushrod to the brake pedal.
Install the brake pedal pushrod bolt (1) and bushing (2) and tighten the pushrod bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the brake pedal position sensor. Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement
- Install the brake master cylinder. Brake Master Cylinder Replacement
- Install the battery tray. Battery Tray Replacement
- NOTE:
A small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly.
Install the power brake booster vacuum sensor (1) to the power brake booster.
- Connect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector.
