Removal Procedure

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Disconnect the master cylinder primary brake pipe fitting (1).

  2. Plug the master cylinder outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  3. Separate intermediate steering shaft at lower steering shaft. Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement
  4. Remove the left front wheelhouse liner. Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Without ZR2) , or Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (With ZR2) , or Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Bison)
  5. Disconnect left front wheel speed sensor harness connector. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (Without ZR2) , or Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (With ZR2)

    Disconnect the master cylinder secondary brake pipe, master cylinder primary brake pipe, and left front brake pipe from the retaining clips (1, 2).

    Disconnect the master cylinder secondary brake pipe, master cylinder primary brake pipe, and left front brake pipe from the left frame rail retaining clips (1).

  8. Remove fuel feed rear pipe.
  9. {If equipped} Remove evaporative emission rear pipe.
  10. NOTE:

    Only lift the body enough to allow removal of the brake pipe assembly.

  11. Separate and support the vehicle body from the frame. Body Mount Upper and Lower Cushion Replacement (Long Wheel Base) , or Body Mount Upper and Lower Cushion Replacement (Short Wheel Base)

    Disconnect the master cylinder primary brake pipe from the top frame rail retaining clip (1).

    Disconnect the master cylinder primary brake pipe fitting (1) from the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).

  14. Plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

    Release retainers (1) to relocate the body harness to allow for access to the master cylinder primary brake pipe to be removed.

  16. Remove the master cylinder primary brake pipe from the vehicle.
