Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Removal

  1. Remove the 2 turbocharger heat shield bolts (2).
  2. Unclip the turbocharger heat shield connection clip (3).
  3. Remove the turbocharger heat shield (1).

  4. Remove the upper turbocharger oil return pipe bolt (1)

  5. Remove the clamp (4) from thermostat bypass pipe.
  6. Remove the turbocharger coolant feed pipe bracket nut (2).
  7. Remove the turbocharger coolant feed pipe hollow bolt (6).
  8. Remove and DISCARD the 2 turbocharger coolant feed pipe gaskets (7).
  9. Remove the 3 turbocharger nuts (1, 8).
  10. Pull the turbocharger (5) slightly upwards and remove the turbocharger coolant feed pipe (3) from the thermostat bypass pipe.
  11. Remove the turbocharger (5) from the exhaust manifold.
  12. Remove and DISCARD the turbocharger gasket (9).

  13. Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe bolt (5).
  14. Remove the lower turbocharger oil return pipe joint out of the engine block.
  15. Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe (1).
  16. Remove and DISCARD the turbocharger oil return pipe seals (2, 4).
