Inspection Procedure

- Inspect each camshaft cover for the dents or damage to the exterior. A dented or damaged camshaft cover may:
- Leak engine oil
- Affect crankcase ventilation
- Interfere with the camshafts
- Interfere with the ignition coil sealing
- Allow water or condensation to enter the engine
- Inspect the exterior of the camshaft cover (1) for the following conditions:
- Damage to the camshaft cover bolt holes
- Damage to the camshaft cover injector bracket bolt holes
- Inspect the interior of the camshaft cover (1) for the following conditions:
- Inspect the camshaft cover for cracks, casting imperfections or damage
- Inspect the camshaft cover sealing (3) and the fuel injector sealing (4) for cracks or damage
- Inspect the camshaft cover bolts (2) for flawless thread
- Inspect the positive crankcase oil separator valves (5) for cracks or damages
