Circuit/System Description

Circuit Description
Signal The control module input circuit has an internal resistance connected to 12 V.
Low Reference Grounded through the control module.
Component Description
B15 Transmission Internal Mode Switch The assembly contains 5 individual switches.When the switch is closed it will pull the signal voltage low.
K20 Engine Control Module The control module contains a microprocessor used to process input data to control outputs.
K71 Transmission Control Module The control module contains a microprocessor used to process input data to control outputs.

The control module K71 uses 4 of the switches as inputs to determine the gear selector lever position.The control module K71 sends the gear selector lever position over serial data to the control module K20.The control module K20 uses 1 of the switches as an input to determine when the transmission is in park or neutral for engine starting.
