Component Testing

- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Remove the component: Transmission Control Lever Knob
- Disconnect the electrical connector: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch
- Test for 5, 900 to 6, 400 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal A & Ground circuit terminal B
- If not between 5, 900 and 6, 400 ohms
Replace the component: Transmission Control Lever Knob
- Go to next step: If between 5, 900 and 6, 400 ohms
- If not between 5, 900 and 6, 400 ohms
- Press and hold the switch: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Downshift
- Test for 1, 900 to 2, 100 kohms between the test points: Signal terminal A & Ground circuit terminal B
- If not between 1, 900 and 2, 100 ohms
Replace the component: Transmission Control Lever Knob
- Go to next step: If between 1, 900 and 2, 100 ohms
- If not between 1, 900 and 2, 100 ohms
- Press and hold the switch: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Upshift
- Test for 600 to 660 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal A & Ground circuit terminal B
- If not between 600 and 660 ohms
Replace the component: Transmission Control Lever Knob
- Go to next step: If not between 600 and 660 ohms
- If not between 600 and 660 ohms
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component: Transmission Control Lever Knob
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- All OK.
